By continuing to use this Site, you are agreeing to this Policy and recognize it as equivalent to a written paper agreement between you and us.

Chimo Youth & Family Services is committed to collecting, using and distributing Personal Information responsibly and in accordance with this Policy and the privacy principles as outlined in the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).

Publicly available information is not considered Personal Information under this Policy.

What information do we collect through our website?

Chimo’s website does not directly collect Personal Information. Individuals may choose to make a referral for service through the Site; however, this information is transferred to a third-party platform called Caredove.  Caredove is an eReferral management system that is PHIPA compliant and is a trusted platform for receiving Personal Information safely. When you choose to share your Personal Information to make a referral through the website, the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy of Caredove apply.

Do We Use Cookies?

From time to time, we may use “cookies” to automatically collect technical and anonymous information from you when you browse our website using Google Analytics. Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the Site. They save and retrieve pieces of information about your visit to our website. Such information would be compiled as aggregate statistical data and does not include Personal Information. This information is collected to enhance the user's experience by helping us improve the design, content and function of our Site.

Should you choose to, you can disable cookies on your computer by changing the settings in the preferences or options menu in your browser.

No. We will not sell your Personal Information.

How do we protect your information?

To protect your Personal Information, we have implemented and maintain reasonable and appropriate technical security measures and practices to protect against the loss and unauthorized access, use, modification, destruction, or disclosure of your Personal Information while it is in our custody or under our control. One such security measure is having an SSL certificate. SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, which helps keep any information shared through the Site private and secure.

Retention of Personal Information

The Personal Information shared when you make an online referral can only be accessed by designated Chimo staff with log-in credentials to retrieve the information so they can contact you. Once our staff has downloaded the Personal Information you have provided, the Personal Information on Caredove expires after 7 days. 

Electronic Communications

Chimo Youth & Family Services does not send out commercial electronic messages. However, we may contact you via phone, text, instant messaging or email to provide communications you have consented to receive regarding the services we provide to you, to arrange appointments or if you contact us with an inquiry.

Changes to our Website Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change this Policy, and any of our policies and procedures concerning our practices for handling Personal Information, at any time and without any prior notice. Any changes made to this Policy will apply to any Personal Information that we hold prior to the effective date of the amended Policy and any Personal Information that we collect on or after such effective date.

If changes are made to the Policy, we will post a notice of the changes on the website and update the Policy modification date below.
