Effective April 1, 2021 Chimo is pleased to announce we have joined a new partnership with York Support Services Network (YSSN) to bring the community specialized crisis support for children, youth, and families through their crisis response program, which you will hear referred to 310-COPE .  YSSN is a not-for-profit charitable agency that has provided mental health services, including crisis services, for over 40 years.

This partnership does not replace our crisis service at Chimo but rather provides an after-hours option for children, youth and families to access crisis support.

Children, youth, or parents can access immediate crisis support with mental health clinicians trained specifically in issues related to child/youth mental health by calling the toll-free number;

1-855-310-COPE (2673) or (TTY) 1-866-323-7785 (available 24 hours a day)

Texting (same number) and online chat options are also available from 7:00 am to Midnight.

Visit https://www.yssn.ca/Crisis-Response-Services to access online chat support.

If a young person or a parent/caregiver from any one of our service areas calls 310-COPE, they will be asked if they are connected to Chimo.  If they are connected already, the crisis worker will inform Chimo, with their consent. If they are not connected to Chimo, they will contact us to make a connection to offer further support, with permission.
