Role of the Board
Board members provide governance oversight, fiduciary stewardship, and strategic leadership. Working collaboratively with fellow directors and senior leadership, Board members ensure the organization remains mission-aligned, accountable, and responsive to the evolving needs of children and youth.

Skills and Experience We Value
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and particularly encourage applications from individuals who bring one or more of the following assets:

  • Governance or leadership experience – prior service on a board of directors, advisory committee, or senior leadership role, with knowledge of fiduciary responsibilities, policy development, and organizational oversight.

  • Critical thinking and strategic insight – the ability to analyze complex issues, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute to sound decision-making.

  • Lived experience – personal or family experience with child and youth mental health services, community systems, or related supports, offering meaningful perspective to governance discussions.

Additional experience in areas such as finance, law, human resources, fundraising, equity and inclusion, or community engagement is also valued.

Time Commitment
Board members are asked to commit to a minimum two-year term and to attend regular board meetings (approximately 9 per year). Meetings are approximately 1-1.5 hours in duration.

Our Commitment to Equity and Inclusion
We are committed to building a Board that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including those with lived experience, and those from equity-deserving communities.
