Lego Group
What is it?
Children love to play with blocks. The Lego Group provides and opportunity for children to use blocks to
play and tell stories. Thorugh their play they may reach an understanding of their history and experience.
Children can develop a new story of hope for the future.
A physically and emotionally safe environment is established so clients are empowered to engage in therapeutic
play and stories. The Lego Group provides positive peer relationships while enhancing new strategies for individual development.
The Lego Group combines elements of individual play therapy, group play therapy and narrative therapy.
Each group consists of 6 clients aged either 6 to 8 years or 9 to 12 years for 10 sessions of 75 minutes.
For Who?
For children between the ages of 6 and 12 who are experiencing behavioural problems, interpersonal
difficulties, separation / loss issues, parent / child conflict or sibling conflict, anxiety.
When does it happen?
Groups run for a period of 10 sessions throughout the school year.
Where are the meetings?
Group session are held at the Chimo office as well as in elementary schools. Our office is located at 2 Kent St. W., Unit #3,
Lindsay.
