Intensive Family Services (Direct Care)
Who :
Typically those families who are dealing with situations
that have become unmanageable and overwhelming
and would benefit from frequent in home
visits to assist with behaviours such as aggression,
talking back, non cooperation, parent child conflict,
running and self harm behaviour.
What :
With your permission, our workers come into your
home and help parents to determine appropriate
structures, limits and routines that will assist in calming
down the current situation, create opportunity
for improved communication, conflict resolution
and problem solving skills. Individual sessions can
also be planned with youth who are struggling with
school or home issues and need the opportunity to
build new skills in self-management.
Services Offered :
Assessment including problem identification, intervention
goals, indicatorsand strategies used in a
time limited treatment format. In-home treatment,
Case Management and Coordination, Development
of Community Resource Networks, School
Consultation, Groups, Specialized and
Individualized Treatment Plans. A psycho-educational
treatment program for individual
child / youth / family to develop adaptive behaviours
and attitudes through a reciprocal partnership and
collaboration with direct care workers.
