CHIMO

CELEBRATING THE HOPES AND DREAMS OF CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES

Crisis intervention usually begins with a telephone call (or a series of telephone calls) from people concerned about the safety and mental health of their child.  Our worker may respond by attending your home or by accompanying your child to a safe place outside of the home.  Our worker may be able to complete their assessment and provide their assistance entirely over the telephone.

Chimo has a crisis program which runs Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm except for holidays.  If you call and you have to leave a message your call will be returned within the hour.

Our crisis program is designed to provide you and your family with a short term 21 day plan of service to assist in stabilizing the situation at hand.  The crisis worker reviews each case with the Multi-disciplinary team to make recommendations for your family.  If it is recommended that your family receive longer term service the crisis worker will suggest that you contact our Central Intake to complete the referral process.

For crisis intervention please call 705-324-3300 ext 500.   If you are in crisis and it is outside of our working hours please contact your local hospital or call 911.
